R.H. Rutkowski Insurance was founded in 1968 by my father, Bob Rutkowski. My husband, Harry, and I took over the agency in 1995. We chose to continue the family business, not only for tradition and personal sentiment, but more importantly, due to the ERIE's outstanding reputation. Our daily focus is to demonstrate the "Golden Rule" and Practice ERIE's philosophy shown at the left. Prior to becoming the President of R.H. Rutkowski Insurance, I worked under the direction of my father for six years. Harry's insurance experience began in 1983 at the Erie Insurance Home Office as an adjustor and personal lines underwriter. We are both licensed in Property/Casualty, Life and Annuities for PA, OH, VA, MD, and TN. Our staff also includes our two sons, Michael and Patrick, who are ready to lend a hand to assist our policyholders. Our newest addition to our staff is Cassandra, who is also licensed in Property/Casualty in PA. When H.O. Hirt and O.G. Crawford decided to start an insurance exchange in 1925, they wanted to base it on "simple common sense, mixed with just plain decency." They turned to the Golden Rule as a guiding principle: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." The two entrepreneurs spent months drumming up support for the Erie Insurance Exchange, with nothing but their axiom and a business plan scribbled on a 10-cent tablet. On April 10, 1925, their fundraising concluded and over 80 years of service and innovation began. - Trish Figurski |
